Congratulations to the winning teams of the 18 regional National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) competitions held this year! The NOSB is building our next generation of marine scientists, policy makers, teachers, explorers, researchers, technicians, environmental stewards, and informed community members by educating them in ocean science topics that are increasingly relevant today and into the future. In each competition, students are tested on their knowledge of ocean science disciplines through buzzer-style, multiple-choice questions and open-ended team challenge questions.

Regional bowls are taking place from February 1 to the end of March, 2025 and winners will continue to be updated here. All first place teams are invited to compete in the National Finals Competition on May 17-18, 2025, a virtual head-to-head competition on Zoom. All competing students are eligible to apply to the National Ocean Scholar Program, which provides tuition assistance for NOSB students who have an interest in pursuing an ocean or environmental science major in their first year of post-high school education.

Interested in participating in your regional bowl next year? Check out the Information for Teams page. Maybe you’d like to volunteer as a competition official? Learn more about volunteer opportunities on our Volunteer Roles page. Or perhaps you are looking to provide a donation or sponsorship in support of our mission to inspire the next generation of ocean leaders? See our Donation page for details. There’s a place for you in the NOSB community, please join us!
