The National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) Professional Webinar Series is a development opportunity for middle and high school educators nationwide. All educators are welcome to register, and NOSB coaches are highly encouraged to participate.
The free online webinar series will focus on the 2017 NOSB competition theme of “Blue Energy: Powering the Planet with our Ocean“.
Each of the presenters will give a one hour live webinar presentation on their current research or topic of interest, followed by a 30 minute Q&A session.
All participants logged into the meeting will be able to listen and follow along with the presentation, as well as type questions for the presenter during the live presentation. The NOSB national office staff will read the questions to the presenter.

Mr. Lesemann will give an overview of Columbia Power’s technology research & development effort and the variety of technical obstacles involved in the company’s effort to develop a commercial system.
Mr. Reenst Lesemann, Columbia Power Technologies
Before joining Columbia Power Technologies in 2011, Reenst Lesemann was a co-founder and Managing Director of Tall Oaks Capital Partners, a seed and early stage venture firm. Prior to Tall Oaks, Reenst ran a series of successful businesses including a maritime logistics spin off, TradeSource, Inc., that he created, led and managed. During his career, he has been responsible for all aspects of business management including strategic planning, marketing, and information services. He currently serves as Co-Chair for the Marine Energy Council, the national trade association for wave, current and tidal energy industry.
Mr. Lesemann graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1986 with a BA in History with Honors. He also holds a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business.
