We are thrilled to announce the return of the NOSB National Finals Competition in 2025! The Center for Ocean Leadership at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), home of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) National Office, will host the Finals Competition on May 17 and 18, 2025, as a virtual, head-to-head competition on Zoom. We extend our gratitude to People Making a Difference, a NOSB Regional Host, for supporting this virtual event.
The top team from each of the 19 Regional Competitions, including the Virtual Sponge Bowl for displaced teams, will be invited to compete for top honors and prizes. This year’s National Competition theme is “Sounding the Depths: Understanding Ocean Acoustics,” which complements our upcoming second annual STEAM Leader Challenge on Scoutlier, a free online education platform. Invited teams should also expect to participate in a virtual kick-off event the week leading up to the competition, as well as a potential virtual field trip and/or career event. These dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.
